Despite the difficult circumstances it has encountered, the Empordà Golf Club, a partner of the Golfy Network, remains determined to make the Empordà a sports location of choice in Europe.
Now the Swedish golfing elite has chosen this Costa Brava club to host the Golfstar Winter Series 2022, from the 18th to the 24th of February, in which the 150 best golfers in Sweden will compete against each other, the only competition to be held outside their own country.
The Golfstar Winter Series 2022 will be divided into two tournaments: the first from 18-20 February and the second from 22-24 February, each with 54 holes. Both competitions will be included in the Official World Golf Ranking and the Golfbox Road to Europe, and each carries a total purse of SEK 600,000.
For the Empordà Golf Club teams, these events are a challenge, a great source of motivation and a source of pride in their work. The Club’s management sees these competitions as “an opportunity to see the best players in the world play live, a test to update the state of the facilities and a good way to improve the professional qualification of our teams and services”.
