After a day on the greens at Domaine Golf Saint Lazare - Limoges, extend your experience with a gastronomic touch. The on-site restaurant showcases local produce with refined dishes based around Blason Prestige-labelled Limousin beef and regional specialities. Take advantage of the terrace offering panoramic views over the golf course, ideal for al fresco dining.

Golf de La Marterie and its lodges offer an immersive experience in the heart of the Périgord. After a round of golf, enjoy traditional Périgord cuisine in an enchanting setting. The golf restaurant makes the most of local produce, in particular foie gras, truffles and Périgord walnuts. Enjoy all this in fine weather, on the terrace overlooking the golf course, in the shade of the hundred-year-old oak tree, or indoors in a restored old Périgord house, offering a warm, authentic atmosphere far from the hustle and bustle.

Ranked among the ‘Most Beautiful Villages in France’, Mortemart is the ideal place to combine golf and gastronomy. Visit L'Ancien Couvent des Carmes, less than a kilometre from the Mortemart golf course. The owner, Ika, offers a family-style cuisine featuring local flavours. At her table d'hôtes, you can sample goat's cheese salad from the La Chabra Negra farm, trout from the Saint-Pardoux lake or Limousin apples prepared in flognarde, a traditional regional cake.

The table d'hôtes is available on reservation, at least 48 hours in advance, in order to give priority to fresh, local produce. Ika works closely with La Grange des Producteurs, located in Blond, a commune committed to biodiversity.

Local favourites

The black truffle is one of the jewels of Périgord. Its intense fragrance enhances even the most refined dishes: omelettes, scrambles, roast poultry and creamy sauces. Many truffle markets are held in the region, including the one in Sarlat. This is the perfect opportunity to learn more about this gastronomic treasure and enjoy it in the best possible conditions.

Renowned for its tenderness and incomparable flavour, Limousin beef is a benchmark in beef. Raised in the open air and fed naturally, it is ideal for tournedos, grilled entrecôte or pot-au-feu.

Périgord is a land of excellence for foie gras. It is the epitome of pure gastronomic pleasure. Local farms often offer tastings and tours to discover the secrets of foie gras production.

Cultivated for centuries, Périgord walnuts are renowned for their quality. They can be used to make oil, cakes or as an accompaniment to cheeses and salads. Artisanal walnut oil is a speciality not to be missed for flavouring your dishes.

The Limousin region is famous for its farmhouse goat's cheeses, such as cabécou and tomme de chèvre. Served on a slice of toast with a drizzle of honey, they're a real treat for fans of authentic cheeses.

Claude Salat and his team at Périgord Fromages, Bonne Adresse By Golfy, are cheesemongers/cream-makers present at the various markets in the Dordogne. Périgord Fromages represents a healthy, local and natural way of eating, as they promote the region's local farmers and producers.
